Ingredients

  • 1 12 oz beer we used Michelobe for this recipe
  • 5 bratwurst
  • 2 small white onions thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Press the saute button on your Instant Pot, and add the sausages to the bowl.
  • Cook the sausages, turning as necessary, so that they brown on both sides. Hit cancel to turn off the pot, and use tongs to remove the brats from the pot and transfer them to a waiting plate.
  • Hit the saute button again, and add the onions to the inner pot. Stir them around.
  • Pour in the beer. Use a sturdy wooden spoon to swirl the onions and beer around - deglazing the pot as you go.
  • Add a trivet to the pot, and set the brats on top.
  • Close the lid, and set the valve to the sealed position.
  • Cook the brats at 5 minutes on high pressure, then let the device naturally release pressure for 8 minutes.
