Red Hot Cinnamon Apples
Red Hot cinnamon apples take the classic fall favorite and turn up the heat with Red Hot candies. You can serve these vintage sweet and spicy apples as a snack, dessert, brunch, or even as part of dinner!

- 3 lbs apples washed, peeled, cored, and sliced (roughly 9 cups)
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup red hot candies (aka cinnamon imperials)
Add the water and sugar to a large skillet set over medium heat. Whisk often, stirring until the sugar's dissolved.

Add the apples and candy, stirring to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then immediately reduce the heat to medium low. Simmer, stirring often, just until the apples have reached your desired level of tenderness.
Remove the skillet from heat, and let the apples cool.
Serve warm & enjoy!
- The apples don't have to be sliced, they can be cut into rings, chunks, etc.
- If you do want to slice the apples, I recommend using an apple slicer to core and slice the apples first. Then cut each slice in half.
- Don't worry if the apples don't appear very red at first. They will turn redder the longer it cools.
- You can serve these warm or chilled.
