Air Fryer Whole Chicken - Rotisserie Style

Air fryer whole rotisserie chicken gives you the classic flavor quickly and easily right at home! This recipe yields juicy, perfectly cooked chicken that is yummier than the kind you can buy in the grab n go case.

Ingredients

  • 5 lb whole chicken
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  • Unwrap your chicken, remove the giblet pouch from the cavity, and rinse the chicken thoroughly. Use paper towels to pat the chicken completely dry. Set aside on a clean cutting board.
  • Add all of the seasonings to a small bowl. Using a fork whisk them together until evenly incorporated.
  • Pour 1/2 the olive oil over the top of the chicken. Using clean hands rub it in all over, including under the wings and legs. Flip the chicken over, pour the rest of the oil over top, and repeat the rub down.
  • Sprinkle half the seasoning blend out over the chicken, and gently rub it in getting the seasonings all over. Flip the chicken, sprinkle with remaining seasonings, and repeat.
  • Liberally spray your air fryer basket with non stick cooking spray. Add the prepared chicken to the basket, breast side down.
  • Cook the chicken for 50 minutes at 360°.
  • Open the air fryer basket, and carefully flip the hot chicken over so the breast side is facing up. Return the chicken to the fryer and cook another 10-12 minutes.
  • Carefully transfer the rotisserie chicken to a clean cutting board. Carve it and serve with your favorite sides.
