Ingredients

  • 2 15 oz cans tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 heaping tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • If it's too thick, you can add a teaspoon of extra water. Whisk until smooth.
  • Store in an airtight mason jar in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

This is meant to be a thinner sauce, so that it pours onto tacos & taco salads with ease. However, if you really want a thicker style then add less water to the blender.
Don't want to use it all within a week? You can store this sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Don't be put off if/when it separates- that's because it used all fresh ingredients. Simply stir back together, and use as wanted.
You can also freeze this sauce for up to three months.
